Our Team

Melissa Danforth-Hommon, MA, is a Medical Assistant at Empowerment Healthcare in Columbus, Ohio, where she supports both clinical care and patient coordination. She helps create a welcoming, organized environment while assisting patients throughout their healthcare experience with attention and compassion.

Melissa graduated from the Ohio Institute of Health Careers in 2006, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She began her career with an internship at an urgent care facility, which led to immediate employment and years of hands-on experience in urgent care settings. Since 2022, she has focused her work in holistic medicine, supporting patients through a more personalized, whole-person approach to care.

She believes in treating every individual with patience and respect, serving as an advocate, active listener, and source of encouragement throughout the wellness journey. Her approach aligns with Empowerment Healthcare’s commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys both quiet time at home and outdoor activities such as kayaking. She also has a strong interest in reading, particularly true crime and history, with a special fascination for the history of medicine.
